Date: Fri, 6 Aug 1999 13:14:17 +0500

Dear Professor Tak

I am sure you must be terribly busy with the Tempere conference approaching. I wish you all the best.

We have been very unlucky not to be able to attend this conference, and meet you and other world leaders on distance learning technolgies. I would be most grateful and thankful if you could keep the participants infomed and possibly circulate our activities in Pakistan. Also, I shall apprecaite to be kept informed about the proceedings.

I have also read with great interest the activities of Mr. Motilal Sharma of the Asian Development Bank and the Worldview International Foundation (WIF), particularly the progress on the Distance learning Network for Asia, which we would definately like to be a part of. Also we are much interested in the Broad Band Internet link to be prvoided to the Open University, Phillipines and the sharing of bandwidth to reduce the delivery cost. We are very much anxious to learn more about this as we have recently entered into an MOU with the Utah State University, USA and would be shortly commencing delivery of their eductaional courses in Pakistan. Perhaps we could also be able to share this Link.

I would also like to once agian reiteriate our desire to be considered for any funding proposal to outreach the masses in this part of the world for which purpose networks are being built.

I would be very interested in attending the Tokyo follow up conference and with your kind support and assistance, I am sure travel funds can be arranged.

Wishing you and all of you collegues a very good and fruitfull conference.

Regards
